On the 21st of August 2010 CCTV footage captured Coventry council worker Mary Bale putting Lola the cat into a wheelie bin. When the footage was published cat owner Bale received death threats and had to move home.

Bale explained that she had no idea why she had put the cat in the bin.

The tide of shocking images published every second on the internet has now moved on to much more horrific and extraordinary things. I doubt whether Bale’s life will ever be the same.
